I’ve worked in the office for 16 years now and still enjoy going to school every day! I’m married to Michael who has the local butchery and we have three sons who all attended Normanby School. John (28) and Fergus (23) live in Auckland and Hamish (25) lives in Hawera. I enjoy yoga, walking, and keeping fit in my spare time. I look forward to seeing you all at the office this year.

Hello my name is Karen. First of all I would like to say that I’m in my 32nd year as a LA at Normanby School. Also I drive the school van and do the Manaia run morning and night. I have two adult children Selena and Andre and two teenage grandsons Kayden and Kobe who go to Hawera High School. I love working outside on our section and to do improvements to the house. During winter I like to do a bit of baby knitting for premature babies in hospitals.

My name is Jill Matthews and I am, and have been a Learning Assistant at our wonderful Normanby School for 17years now. Time flys!! I mostly work in Room 5 + 6. Such a great opportunity to impact and build relationships with our little ones. So precious. Also this year I am spending some time in Room 7 +8 , which has been fun seeing the growth in the children from last year.
I have 3 beautiful Adult girls, Missy, Jamie and Libby and I'm Nanni to our gorgeous 4 year old Ivy. My husband is Wayne and collectively with Wayne's 3 Adult children we have 6 other Grandies.
Wayne and I love going away traveling on our motorbike or in the car. Family is important to us. We are also kept busy with Leading the Hawera Salvation Army Church. God Bless

I have been a Learning Assistant at Normanby for about four years but have been involved in the school for many years now. Some of you may have seen me filling in for Kay in the office and some of you may know me from when my own children came to our school. I live in Normanby with my partner Karl (who works at Fonterra Collingwood Street) and daughter Amy (who has enrolled in the Cookery course at WITT). Our son, Joel (he works at Fonterra Whareroa), has moved into his first house so we are adjusting to life without him in ours every day.
This year I am working in Puanga Hub (the best Hub ever!) and I look forward to working with all our new seniors as well as catching up with all of our “old hands”.

I have been cleaning at Normanby School for 13 years. I love being part of the team at Normanby School. The staff and children are so helpful. I am married to Mike and we have three adult children and nine grandchildren. Our two daughters live in Hawera and our son is farming at Opunake. We spend the weekends following our grandchildren’s sport - netball, rugby and Speedway.
